How did you get into the beer industry? Why does beer matter to you?
I am from Mexico, and I have lived several years in Germany. It was there that I discovered my love for beer. I was impressed by the way people enjoy long walks in nature and then reward themselves with a beer in a Biergarten. I adopted this habit, and beer became my personal reward after every hike. At the same time, I realized that the world of beer is huge and strongly connected to culture. This inspired me and made me want to learn more about it. That was the beginning of my journey. Since then, I have enjoyed learning about beer, and it has become a very important part of my life. As a Beer Sommelier and author, I write about beer for newspapers, magazines, and my own blog, organize tastings and tours, judge beers in professional competitions, and advise breweries. I also founded the first women’s craft beer group and movement in Mexico, which promotes beer culture. Beer is a gift from nature. With beer, life feels fuller and meant to be shared. Beer is not only a drink; it is culture, art, and a way to celebrate life.
Why do you judge at the World Beer Cup? What does judging at the World Beer Cup mean to you?
Participating in the World Beer Cup, such a large and important competition, is inspiring and pushes me to continue learning and growing as a professional. It is an opportunity to support the growth and development of the beer industry and to recognize breweries producing high-quality beers. It also allows me to exchange knowledge and experiences with judges from around the world and to learn what brewers are doing in different countries. I feel fortunate to be part of the World Beer Cup judging panel. It is a unique experience that allows me to celebrate beer, connect with the global beer community, and help strengthen beer culture worldwide. Thank you!
What else would you like the world to know?
I invite people to discover The Beerfulness, a lifestyle that integrates beer culture and wellness. In my ebook, The Beerfulness: Qué es y cómo practicarlo, I share how this concept benefits both beer lovers and the beer industry by promoting conscious enjoyment, education, and cultural connection. The Beerfulness offers a fresh way to experience beer, not just as a drink, but as a lifestyle. Salud! Prost! Cheers!
