How did you get into the beer industry? Why does beer matter to you?

After working with Plutonium at Los Alamos and Rocky Flats, I decided it might be better to work with aluminum at Ball Corporation making beer cans. Beer is interesting because the package it is in can make or break the drinker's experience. A great beer can be ruined by poor packaging.

Why do you judge at the World Beer Cup? What does judging at the World Beer Cup mean to you?

Even though I been judging for more than 20 years, every time I judge I learn. It could be from a beer that is new or from a brewer trying something new or different.

What else would you like the world to know?

Get out explore the world by bicycle or hiking, you never know what you are going to find. Plus, some of best beers I have ever had have come after a long day outside.
